In September 2009 CPC inaugurated a “Pastor’s Book of the Month.” Actually, the idea came not from the pastors, but from the elders. It was explained to me that already with so little time for reading due to our hurried lifestyles, it is all the more important that we read “good” books as with the advice of our church pastors. Now by “good” it was not meant mere entertainment (however much this could be a good thing), but good in relation to the Christian soul. With this mandate in mind, the pastors will recommend a book believed to be timely and complementary with respect to our Christian journey at CPC. But more than this, we want to read communally with all the benefits of “two are better than one.” And so we have established a Pastors Book of the Month blog in order that we can all read together! That is, as you read and have thoughts—blog them! This will be tons of fun as we read communally, but it will also be tons of “good” as we help one another read experientially in relation to our growing together in Christ. -Rev. Preston Graham
