Daily Lectionary for Private and Family Worship
(Taken from the Daily Lectionary related to the Revised Common Lectionary)
The Daily Lectionary is arranged in a two-year cycle and provides for reading twice through the New Testament and once through the Old Testament during the cycle. It is related to the Revised Common Lectionary, a collection of readings from the Bible arranged and intended for use during corporate worship and used by many traditions throughout the world.
You may consult
this article for more information about how to use the daily readings in your private or family worship.
A disclaimer: The two-year Daily Lectionary is derived from older ecumenical lectionaries, which include readings from the Apocrypha as part of its ecumenical vision. Our church tradition does not recognize these books as part of the canon of Scripture and therefore do not recommend them for your devotional uses, at least not as a reading of God’s Sacred Word. On days when an apocryphal reading is included, there is always an alternate selection from the (canonical) Hebrew Scriptures provided.
